Qualify

Qualify is a data appending service that adds demographic information to a given record. This can be achieved either in the following two ways

1. Automatically qualify a record on the first form submit
2. Automatically qualify a record on the first phone call
3. Use the Qualify workflow action to append data to the in process contact
4. Manually qualifying a contact
5. Bulk editing contacts

The data returned from the qualify call will update the fields set in the Qualify Field Mapping

Your account has default custom fields that were created to accept the data from Qualify calls

You can use these custom fields or assign the fields to your own custom fields. You can delete the custom fields if you do not plan on using qualify.

The qualify call will require that the record has at least a phone number or an email address.

The standard fields that could potentially be updated are with a Qualify call:

First Name
Last Name
Phone Number
Email Address
Gender
Address (Street Address, Zip Code, City, State, Country)

Enabling Automatic Qualification

There are two shortcuts that you can use to automatically qualify contacts.  These shortcuts are available either in the lead processing area (as shown below) or in the billing section of the account.

Enabling the First Form Submit trigger will call Qualify on a contact on the first form submit for that contact. Enabling the First Phone Call trigger will call Qualify on a contact the first time the contact makes a phone call. 

Using The Qualify Workflow Action

The Qualify workflow action can be used in all workflows.

If you use this in the sales notifications workflow, this is a great way to ensure the contact is fully qualified before sending it to the sales team.

Using the workflow action in the Phone Call processing workflow will ensure your caller information is complete before you pick up the phone!

Qualifying Individual Contacts

On the contact quick edits (accessed via the Kanban cards), any contact that has a phone number and/or an email address can be qualified by clicking the Qualify button

Using the Bulk Contact editor, you also can qualify a batch of contacts:
