Integrating ActiveDEMAND and Your Website (Adding the tracking script)

Integrating your marketing automation platform and your website gets you advanced analysis of visitors & conversions that Google Analytics can’t provide. It also grants your website special powers: like dynamic number insertion, dynamic content, popups, and more. There are several ways to connect ActiveDEMAND and your website, let’s talk about them.

Connection Methods

  1. ActiveDEMAND WordPress Plugin

  2. Google Tag Manager (GTM)

  3. Tracking Script

WordPress Plugin

For most websites on WordPress, we recommend using our WordPress plugin because it:

  • Auto inserts the code on all pages/posts

  • Makes it easy to add forms, dynamic content, and popups to pages, with the option to use theme CSS for the form/dynamic content

See this article on how to install the WordPress Plugin

Google Tag Manager

For websites that aren’t on WordPress and already have a Google Tag Manager (GTM) account, we recommend using GTM to integrate.

See this article on how to install the tracking code via GTM.

Tracking Script

For websites that aren’t using WordPress and aren’t using GTM, we recommend installing the code directly on the site. This is typically done in a heading template file so that you can do it once and don’t have to copy and paste the script for every single page. The script should be located right before the closing tag.
